Where is ashenvale forest
Though pockets of the forest have become tainted, overall the area is a place of deep magic and spiritual connection with nature. Several lakes are sheltered beneath the forest's boughs. A stretch of beach lines the west edge of the forest, known as the Zoram Strand , where hostile naga dwell. The forest is bordered by mountains to the south, and more forest to the north. The eastern border is the Southfury River. Ashenvale contains Blackfathom Deeps. In addition, the micro dungeon Bough Shadow , the site of one of the Great Trees , can be found in this zone.
The Alliance entrance to the battleground Warsong Gulch is located in the southern part of the forest. The events of the Cataclysm scarred many areas of Ashenvale, chief among them Iris Lake and its surroundings. The lake has been destroyed, evaporated by streams of lava pouring from Thunder Peak nearby. The worgen have all but disappeared from the Howling Vale , as its main tunnel system has collapsed leading into it, with another short cave system opening at its base.
The area now crawls with Crazed Ancients. Another area has recently been stripped of its normal inhabitants as well: Lake Falathim. The murlocs have vanished, and now writhing Tendrils from Below haunt the lake. The area is also gloomy and dank, the site of battle between Keeper Heartwise and Harbinger Aphotic.
Continue along the road south and then east into the main Alliance stronghold of the zone, Astranaar. When the road forks, head east to the Horde stronghold Splintertree Post. Ashenvale is home to several characters of note. In Astranaar, Raene Wolfrunner attempts to cleanse the taint that has affected the local furbolgs. At the Zoram'gar Outpost, Je'neu Sancrea sends bold adventurers into the dark Blackfathom Deeps in search of mystical items.
Many quests in Ashenvale for both Alliance and Horde require combat with the demons and satyrs of the zone. Other notable Horde quests include The Ashenvale Hunt , in which players are asked to hunt down rare animals in the forest. Alliance quests include a chain to investigate the worgen of northern Ashenvale.
An Alliance attack on the Crossroads in the Barrens or a Horde attack on Astraanar would result in a back and forth match as players battled across the landscape. Ashenvale was also a prime location for high level players to gank low level players as for many Orcs, Tauren, Trolls and Night Elves this was their first contested zone.

Comment by Here is a map showing locations where alliance characters can sell their trash to vendors: Alliance Vendors A few other tips.
To get to Stonetalon Mountains go through Talondeep Path. The tunnel itself is free of mobs, though there will be some spiders waiting for you at the other end. The flight path to Azshara is easy to pick up from here. Just take the road east out of Ashenvale, it's just over the border and there are no hostile mobs to deal with. The flight path to Emerald Sanctuary in Felwood is a little more difficult for lower levels.
You will aggro some hostile beasts and even when you make it to Emerald Sanctuary, the NPC's there won't help you to kill them. Comment by it will be better if here will be location where are briarthorns and not a men who droppes briarthorns. Comment by what is the name of the instance up in the right hand corner? Comment by Ashenvale is home to the instance named Blackfathom Deeps. It's located north west on the Zoram'gar strand the coast completely west of Ashenvale on your map , underneath a temple-like place.
Just south of the strand is the horde outpost, and on the road east you will come to Astranaar. So horde and alliance have an easy way to get there.
A total of 6 bosses, 3 optional. Most drops require level Id say the level requirement of the group should be about the same as Shadowfang Keep. Fun instance; doable more than once for its ease and loots. If you haven't gone there yet, I recommend doing so. Comment by I've been playing this game for about two years now and just found a buried green statue its head is about the size of a house and its wielding somthing but its buried up to the neck in the ground Comment by Since this has yet to be posted here, Talondeep Path in Ashenvale is at Comment by wheres The Howling Vale i cant discover it.
Comment by Seif I remember when I first started playing WoW with a few mate, all three of us were in our early 20 levelling and irl. Torek's assualt was an awesome quest and one of the most fun I've seen in WoW. Pity Classic didn't have more like this one. Comment by estacado Any idea where is Bough Shadow?
Comment by For Horde Only Loremaster of Kalimdor : Make sure to kill 3 named mobs in this area that count towards the achievement. Each drops an item that starts a quest. Comment by I know this probably also happens in Astranaar, but seeing as I play mostly Horde, it's frustrating when Alliance camp Splintertree, killing every NPC and questgiver, wait for them to respawn, and do it again. And seeing as there's only one way in and out of the post, you may not be able to leave for awhile without being killed on a PvP server.
Like I said, I know the same probably happens in Astranaar, but this area seems more aimed toward the Alliance, and higher-level Alliance at that. I hate seeing "Splintertree Post is under attack! Over and over and over Comment by Its not bad place it's pretty nice looking but I think its just to big. Comment by Ashenvale is a luch and vibrant area of forests, meadows and lakes. Today Demons, Elementals, Furbolgs and many more supernatural creatures rule this land.
The Night Elves, inherently attuned to nature, have started to cleance this land, but it will take many years before it is safe for travelers to roam freely through this land. Comment by Xelestial Beautiful area. One of the most beautiful in the game besides Azshara. The only original home of the Night Elves that isn't in ruins. Fully enjoy it pre-Cataclysm by taking up achievements like Loremaster of Kalimdor.
Comment by I remember this was the zone with a lot of chain quest's rly fun to do : atleast for alliance but i'm sure horde have them too :p. Comment by If you are questing here remember that your honor points and Warsong Gulch Marks can be turned in at the Alliance Warsong Gulch area. Great place to stop by on your way to Forest Song. Comment by matoh current Cataclysm map leak for this zone: here seem like Garrosh screw Ashenvale ,, and this zone got a volcano?
Comment by Very beautiful zone, watch out for hordies, they love makin those damned mud huts! Comment by Ashenvale is a very popular zone for both Alliance and Horde for a number of reasons.
The zone has a good level range for questing, making it suitable for players from as low as Lvl 18 Lvl 19 for Horde to as high as Lvl 30 although some quests reach as high as Lvl Most of the quests can be soloed easily and there are only two group quests, both on the Horde side Vorsha the Lasher and King of the Foulweald. Gathering professions such as skinning and herbalism but not so much mining, although there are some veins to find mix well with this zone.
Many of the mobs here are skinnable though perhaps not as many as in Darkshore, due to the large numbers of Furbolgs, Demons and Forsaken Undead and herbs are almost as bountiful as the beasts.
