Sc2 which race should i be

If you like planning ambushes, traps, and moving units from one place to another quickly, then you might main Protoss. Do you like simple steps in a process? For Protoss, all it takes is a single probe to construct an entire base. Are you not a fan of sending in your troops without being able to deploy reinforcements? Protoss is a good choice for you; this race has a commendable selection of support units. Protoss players often have small forces that their opponents underestimate.

A new player can send in a small force and when the enemy takes the bait, warp in a larger force. Does the name sound familiar? And like the inhabitants of Earth, Terrans are known for using the environment to their advantage. Experienced players have praised the base defense of this race. Planetary Fortress, for example, is the best defensive structure of them all. Additionally, buildings that can lift off or submerge so that units can pass through make for great choke points.

Terrans get free bunkers. Those can be salvaged for defense or offense with low economic risk. The story goes that Terrans are the descendants of colonizers from Earth. Unlike Protoss, Terrans can build anywhere. Their strength comes in the diversity of units. As said before, this race is naturally durable and resilient. In-game, this translates to tough armor, defensive buildings and vehicles, and the ability to repair buildings and units. Experienced players tend to mark Terrans as difficult in the mid-high skill range, though scouting is easy at all levels.

Pride for being a human should be left at the door when deciding which race to play. Terrans rely on strength of numbers as well as strength of firepower. Do you like to create durable armies? Like creating a huge army that has a good diversity of units, thus is able to handle many situations?

I had a chance to look at a number of really good Protoss players and dissect their use of Force Fields. If you want to start using Sentries a bit more check it out! Over the past week I have had what I felt to be a few leaps and bounds in the improvement of my play. As if to acknowledge this last night I was promoted to Gold.

Please excuse me for a moment:. Now that thats out of my system I thought I might discuss what I have been doing up to this point and what I felt got me into Gold. A lot of my time spent in Bronze was spent simply trying things out and practicing. Although this meant no real ladder progress for a long while I was in Bronze for many months I think it went a long way towards shaping my view of the game now and helped me to create my current style.

In Bronze I played as Random, learning all three races really helped me to understand the strengths and limitations of each. It also had another effect: I never blame my losses on race, imbalance etc but rather my own mistakes. Internalising success and failure in this way has really driven me to improve.

Spend a decent amount of time trying different races, styles, strategies and just practicing the basics of the game. Most of my time spent in Silver was spent discovering my style. A big part of this process was watching Pro players like iNcontrol and HuK play and trying out things that they did. Having such a large group of people willing to play practice games with me really sped up my progress in Silver. As I mentioned earlier, about a week ago I had a leap in my gameplay and this was the result of focusing on learning one match-up.

This really motivated me to learn all about Protoss vs Zerg. Updated: 17 Jul am. BY: Autumn Chiu. PROTOSS Protoss is the slow, technical race, controlling a relatively small part of the map, but pushing inexorably from its solid foundation.

Chronoboost allows for precise control over timing attacks and builds. Warp-Ins give Protoss arguably the strongest harassment options of the three races.

Protoss lacks strong base defense, often getting picked apart in the midgame by harassment. BIO TERRAN Terran is unique in that it has two wildly different playstyles, bio and mech: "bio" meaning biological, focusing on Terran's biological units, meaning Marines, Marauders, and Medivacs; and "mech" meaning mechanical, focusing on the mechanical units, usually Siege Tanks, Thors, and Hellbats.

Splitting and pickup micro gives the player tremendous room to improvise. Drop play allows for easy harassment without losing momentum. Marines and Marauders are relatively cheap, meaning that you can replenish your army quickly. Relatively low micro requirement an entrenched mech army doesn't need any babysitting.

Map control is largely unnecessary, as long as the mech player can secure bases. Because mech is less popular than bio, many players lack practice in responding to it. ZERG Finally, we have Zerg, possibly the strongest race at the moment though not by that much , and your author's main race. With lightning fast units, Zergs can both attack and defend spread-out bases easily.

Zerg also has few options for early pressure aside from Zergling runbys. More on this topic: starcraft 2. Autumn has been known to play a video game now and then. Please send help.

If tempests were the go-to lategame units, Protoss at MMR is getting nerfed for sure. But Protoss at the top level I think it might get even better. Blizzard should nerf the buildtime and movement speed of the voidray. I think its too good in proxies in PvP and PvT. Its not going to remove the voidray style in PvZ but makes it weaker for sure. Another problem is Protoss ground. There is a reason why very little Protosses goes for Chargelot immortal archon.

There is a reason why Stalkers are not used beyond a timing designed to kill Zerg. There is a reason why adepts are only used for the adept build and become completely obsolete beyond 6 mins. These are design problems in PvZ which made PvZ look extremely Zerg favored in the past prior to the voidray buff. What are you smoking dude? The last gsl event had 1 zerg in the round of eight and PvP finals.

The current one currently has only one zerg in the round of 8. Foreign players like fights without early fight. You cant break protoss that easily anymore because of shield battery overcharge and voids. You cant kill them anymore with mass roaches. I think ofc can you mix in banelings as the protoss would rather go adepts vs these kinds of all ins and banelings do the same amount of dmg as they did before.
